Natural Gas in Manavgat: Not Yet, Targeted for 2026

Manavgat is one of Antalya's most populous and tourism-heavy districts, yet its natural gas network is not currently active. Distribution is licensed to Enerya Antalya Gaz Dağıtım A.Ş., and feeder line works for the district are underway in the Yeniköy area; according to Manavgat Municipality, distribution is targeted to go live in 2026. To be clear: that's a target, not a fixed date. Rather than putting off your heating needs while you wait, the more realistic approach in Manavgat today is a system that doesn't depend on gas and will still be useful once the network does arrive.

Why a Heat Pump-First Approach?

While waiting for gas in Manavgat, you still need to heat your home or business and produce hot water. A Vaillant aroTHERM plus heat pump runs on electricity, so it installs without any gas infrastructure at all. It's an air-source monobloc unit that extracts heat from outdoor air and raises it to a usable indoor temperature; it runs on R290 refrigerant and can deliver water up to 75°C. That upper limit means you can switch to a heat pump without replacing your existing radiator system; it also works well alongside underfloor heating if you have it.

The Mediterranean Climate Advantage for Heat Pumps

Manavgat sits near sea level (10 m elevation) with mild winters. Air-source heat pumps deliver higher efficiency on less electricity the milder the outdoor air is, since the system draws most of its heat energy directly from the air and uses electricity only to raise the remaining gap. A coastal district like Manavgat, which rarely drops below freezing in winter, is a favourable location for heat pump installation from that standpoint.

Capacity Planning for Resort Facilities and High-Occupancy Use

Neighbourhoods with heavy tourist activity like Side, Sorgun and Çolaklı include guesthouses, apart-hotels and small commercial facilities alongside residential homes. Hot water demand in these buildings can be heavier and more variable than in a typical home; we size capacity based on room/bed count, peak simultaneous demand, and any existing storage cylinder. Multiple units or an additional storage tank can scale the system up where needed.

If You Already Have an Existing System

Many homes in Manavgat still run on LPG combi boilers or heating boilers. We provide regular combi boiler maintenance for these systems, along with pre-winter servicing, fault repair, and plumbing services. If a system is connected to gas or electricity and you suspect a fault, don't attempt a fix yourself - call an authorised service.

What Happens When Gas Arrives?

Installing a heat pump today doesn't waste your investment when gas arrives tomorrow. It's an independent, electricity-run system; once gas infrastructure is complete, you can keep your existing setup, or add natural gas internal installation and run both systems side by side. The decision is entirely yours, and we support either path.

Frequently asked questions

When will natural gas arrive in Manavgat?

According to Manavgat Municipality and Enerya Antalya, feeder line works are underway in the Yeniköy area, with distribution targeted for 2026. That's a target, not a confirmed date - we can't promise an exact gas turn-on date today.

What should I install while waiting for gas?

A Vaillant aroTHERM heat pump runs on electricity and installs without waiting for gas infrastructure, covering both heating and hot water in one unit. If gas arrives later, you don't have to replace it - you can add gas installation alongside it if you choose.

Can a hotel or facility in a resort area like Side or Sorgun use a heat pump?

Yes - heat pump systems scale by capacity and can serve guesthouses, apart-hotels and small commercial facilities beyond residential homes; multiple units or higher-capacity models can be planned based on need.

If gas arrives later, do I have to cancel my heat pump?

No. A heat pump runs on electricity independently of gas. When gas arrives, you can keep using both systems together, or switch to gas alone - the choice is entirely yours.
