Frequently asked questions
The questions our customers ask most often about gas subscriptions, indoor pipework, boiler installation and servicing, with short answers. If your question is not here, just call us.
How long does a gas subscription and commissioning take?
From approval of the application to the inspection visit of the distribution company usually takes 3–7 working days. Indoor pipework in a flat takes an average of 1–2 days. The total depends on the building, missing documents and the appointment load of the distribution company.
How is the price of a gas installation calculated?
The price depends on the floor area, the number and position of appliances, the distance to the riser, the pipe route and the class of materials used. That is why we prefer a free survey and a written quotation itemising materials and labour rather than a rough figure over the phone.
Why does the installer need a certificate?
Indoor gas pipework may only be carried out by companies holding a valid Indoor Installation and Service Lines Certificate from the distribution company. Work done without it is rejected at the commissioning inspection and has to be done again, costing both time and money.
What boiler capacity do I need?
Capacity is calculated from the heated area, ceiling height, insulation, glazing and hot water demand. In Antalya a 23–24 kW condensing boiler is usually enough for a typical two-bedroom flat, while larger flats and homes with two bathrooms are better served by 29–34 kW.
How often should a boiler be serviced?
Once a year, ideally in October before the heating season starts. Regular servicing lowers fuel consumption, reduces the risk of breakdowns and is required by most manufacturers for the appliance warranty to remain valid.
Who draws the project and gets it approved?
We draw the project and we follow the approval process with the distribution company. All we ask from you is to prepare the subscription documents; if a revision is needed we handle the correspondence as well.
What is a tightness test and how is it done?
The completed gas installation is filled with air at a defined pressure and monitored for a set period to see whether the pressure drops. The result is recorded in the technical report. If pressure drops, the leak point is found, repaired and the test repeated.
Do I need to be present for gas commissioning?
Yes. The subscriber or an authorised person must be present so the distribution company team can access the property. If you share the appointment date with us, our team attends too and completes any minor items found during the inspection on the spot.
Underfloor heating or radiators: which makes more sense?
Underfloor heating runs at a lower water temperature, so it is more efficient with condensing boilers and heat pumps and gives an even comfort distribution. However it requires screed, which makes it difficult in a light renovation. Radiators suit existing flats; underfloor heating suits new builds and full refurbishments.
Do you provide a warranty on your work?
Yes. We provide a warranty on our labour and installation work, while appliances are covered by the manufacturer warranty terms. For Vaillant products, installation and commissioning are carried out by us as an authorised dealer, so your warranty record is opened without issue.
Is the site survey free?
Yes. Surveys and quotations are completely free across Antalya. Send us your address and a suitable time window and we can usually visit the same day or the following day.
Our building has no gas riser, what should we do?
First the building management needs to take a decision on installing a riser. A riser project is then drawn for the building and approved by the distribution company. Once the riser is complete, individual flats can have their own pipework installed. We act as a single point of contact for the whole building.
